Quality design and attention to detail sit at the heart of everything that we do. At TP we are able to produce bespoke, handmade fire door sets that are both FD 30 and FD 60 rated. We are able to produce made-to-measure Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian, or contemporary doors that are approved to BS 476 Part 22: 1987. As every product that we make is bespoke, our capabilities and product range is vast. The TP Team is happy to offer professional advice and no-obligation quotes on every door.

HISTORIC DOORS

Having worked in period properties for many years we understand the complications that heritage buildings present when meeting modern building regulations.

Often historic buildings have odd sized door sets that need to match the style of the building, TP is able to deliver a period door that meets the highest level of fire protection.

Improving fire safety within buildings is a challenge we are all continuously facing. The exact piece of legislation or ‘British Standard’ that applies for fire doors in the UK is BS 476: Part 22 or BS EN 1634-1 depending on whether they are fire resistant for a minimum of 30 minutes (FD30) or 60 minutes (FD60), enough time to help you get free of the area. At TP, we make fire doors that comply with this, including glazed as well as non-glazed doors.

Ironmongery

At TP Fire Doors we use quality approved ironmongery that meets the fire safety standards. We have access to ironmongery that comes in a range of attractive finishes to match your décor.

Installation

When fitting in period properties we never know what we'll find. If something unexpected happens, you'll want a skilled, experienced team with a positive attitude on your side.

Construction

We combine the traditional joinery practices of door construction with modern methods of construction to ensure that our fire doors do not only meet the necessary standard but they also look beautiful.

Finish

The highest quality spray paint is applied to the doors with a methodical system that is specifically designed to make our doors look beautiful for years to come.

about us

We (Matt and Ben) have run a construction company for over ten years and we have built a reputation for being experts in renovation and conservation of period properties.

Ben started his career as a joiner at the age of 17 and after sometimes struggling to find exactly what we needed and to our exacting standards we decided to open our own joinery.

Faq

A firedoor is a specially designed door that provides fire resistance, helping to prevent the spread of fire from one area to another. It's a crucial component of fire safety in buildings.

Firedoors are constructed with fire-resistant materials, including intumescent seals and fire-rated glass. These components expand when exposed to heat, creating a barrier against flames and smoke.

Firedoors come in various types, such as steel, wooden, glass, and composite firedoors. Each type serves a specific purpose and offers different levels of fire resistance.

Firedoors play a critical role in protecting lives and property during a fire. They help contain the fire and smoke, allowing occupants to evacuate safely and reducing property damage.

Firedoors should be regularly inspected and maintained as per local fire safety regulations. Maintenance typically includes checking seals, hinges, and closing mechanisms.

Common problems with firedoors include damaged seals, misalignment, or issues with the closing mechanism. These can compromise their effectiveness.

Signs of a faulty firedoor can include visible damage, gaps around the door, and difficulties in opening or closing it. Regular inspections can help identify faults.
